What it is
The ORIGINAL by SleekEZ (Medium) is a hand-held deshedding and grooming stick sold on SleekEZ's official product page. SleekEZ says the blade uses "teeny, tiny teeth configured in a unique tooth and wave pattern" that "works by grabbing at the tips of the hair to extract from the skin without painful tugging," and that it "does extract shedding undercoat despite the size of the teeth." The maker says hair collects along the blade in tidy rows and then falls to the ground, with no need to pull hair from the tool. The same official page states it is "ideal for all shedding animals between 20 and 500 lbs," lists U.S. patent numbers 9,474,250 and D817,560, and notes in capital letters that the product "is not for detangling or removing mats" and "does not clip or shave the hair." SleekEZ's FAQ adds that the tool "works on short haired, long haired and double coated dogs," that it "sheds the undercoat of fur without cutting the longer guide hairs on double coated dogs," and that Medium is intended for medium to large dogs. Treat those statements as the maker's own wording, checked against the live official SleekEZ product page and FAQ on 2026-10-02 ET, not as independent lab or veterinary results. This page covers only the Medium ORIGINAL tool at the URL below, not Small, Large, Combo, or Professional variants.
Why it matters for a light-coat Lab puppy
English Labs carry a short double coat that sheds seasonally, and Florida heat and humidity keep loose undercoat in the house, on furniture, and on a white coat. The deshed-tools category currently lists two rubber curry brushes (KONG ZoomGroom and Safari Comfort Grip Curry); those are useful bath and massage tools, but they are the same style of tool. SleekEZ gives a different official mechanism — an undercoat-extracting stick the maker says does not clip or shave — so an owner can compare rubber curry versus a true deshedding blade for Theo's coat. The Medium page's 20-to-500 lb range covers a growing Lab puppy; whether Medium or Small feels better in the hand for a ~25 lb puppy is something to judge with short, supervised sessions. Keep sessions short and positive, brush in the direction the coat grows, and stop if the skin looks irritated; that handling advice is an inference from ordinary puppy grooming practice, not a SleekEZ statement.
Not this
This is not a clipper, a razor, a slicker brush, a rubber curry, or a reason to shave a Labrador. SleekEZ itself says the tool is not for detangling or removing mats and does not clip or shave. It does not replace veterinary care for hot spots, rash, or sudden heavy shedding. The maker's claims that it works better than other shedding tools, that it will not cut skin when used correctly, and that it removes "all expired hair" are SleekEZ's own wording and are not repeated here as tested results. Prices, retailer multipacks, Amazon or Chewy listings, referral links, and tracking URLs are out of scope. This listing is only The ORIGINAL by SleekEZ (Medium) Grooming Tool at https://www.sleekez.com/products/5-sleekez-medium-grooming-shedding-stick-1. KONG ZoomGroom and the Safari Comfort Grip Curry Brush remain separate directory seeds for the same gear type. This page is an official alternate, not a ranking.
